Eight Ash Green Action Group committee members have been attending any meeting they hear of that has anything to do with P&R. For example, CBC meetings - the Strategic Overview and Scrutiny Panel (meetings of 5 Sept and 17 Oct particularly refer), Cabinet meetings (deliberations from above SOS panel can get referred to Cabinet and 17 Oct meet will be), Audit/Finance meetings. These are all open to the public.
We attended the Colchester 20/20 meeting where the Chairman of the National 20/20 addressed the meeting which was about transport generally. Park and ride mentioned by him but not especially pushed by him - it had its place but only when placed appropriately in conjunction with other facilities.
We attend Eight Ash Green parish council meetings (who are fighting this). Also Stanway Parish council meetings are attended now and then who seem to be on our side but have their own battles to fight.
Recent meeting attended was at Stanway school which was mainly about traffic issues in Stanway but EAG park and ride was brought in at the end in respect of its traffic issues. Bob Russell chaired this, present were CBC officers, ECC officers, to do presentation and answer questions.
