Download the decision here (239kb pdf) of the ECC Planning Officer in respect to EAG Park and Ride to require an Environmental Impact Assessment by the Highways Department and their consultants, with the reasons annexed.

The County Council has to file it in the CBC Planning Register of EIAs.

It might be of interest to some of you to learn how busy this site is.

1) It's listed in the yahoo.com directory and is the top result returned on many query strings.
2) It is returned on google.com but due to their complex algorithm for querying it is much lower in the results list and harder to find.

With the 2 points above in mind the graphic here from the hosting company displays that at the peak in July, 234 unique visitors viewed the site a total of 621 times in the month of July. The graphic is correct as of eod 03/10/2006 which is why October is currently so low.

There are 43 registered accounts with many more wishing to remain anonymous. Using www.eightashgreen.com or www.eightashgreen.info doesn't make any difference as the website redirects users as it sees fit, so either one will do, and ends up in the same place.

The site is still open to any registered user to add content, though the webmaster always reserves rights to publish; being factual, traceable and having a savoury agenda will not cause any problems.

Click here (15kb pdf) for the full letter, an exert of which follows....

The application for planning permission is now suspended and can not be re-activated until the Environmental Statement has been submitted. At present it is still proposed to place a brief report before the Development & Regulation Committee on Friday (29th September) recommending only that Members hold a site visit although, with the application now unlikely to come before Members until February/March 2007 at the earliest, there is no longer an element of urgency in the arrangement of a site visit.

Click here (11kb pdf) for names and address of the Essex County Council Development and Regulation Committee who will take the final decision on the Park & Ride planning proposal.

Perhaps writing letters to each of these councillors before October to persuade them of the error in this planning application will make a positive difference.
